Aromatically, neroli shines as a calming and soothing ingredient in aromatherapy and cosmetics. It is known to add luster to your appearance by illuminating dull skin. Neroli hydrosol is created by distilling flowers of the bitter orange tree (Citrus aurantium). Neroli has been used for hundreds of years and gained popularity in the 1700s when Princess of Nerola, Anne-Marie de la Trémoille started using the flowers of the bitter orange tree as perfume.
